8 Thornway is an exciting new build development in Bramhall and we were approached to complete the groundworks package including foundation, ground floor slab and drainage. The site has clay sub soils resulting in deeper than usual, stepped footings and the need for protection from the risks of clay heave. The site also suffers from restricted access complicating construction methods and limiting the area available for the storage and handling of all products and materials.

Working to detailed structural and architectural drawings we worked with the site engineer to ensure compliance with specification and all health and safety targets. We provided a full service to the client to excavate to reduced levels, dig and pour foundations before laying a structural ground floor slab over a clayboard void former. Works were completed under budget and to programme despite the terrible weather we encountered during our time on site.

Qube Spaces are currently undertaking works to complete superstructure and we will return to site in due course to complete the drainage installation.
