A Swinging Success After 30 Years
Friday 23rd September saw us celebrate 30 years of successful trading with a golf day and branding relaunch. The event was held at Flixton Golf Club and attended by staff and clients of the company.
On a surprisingly sunny September day, everything was set for friendly competition on the fairways of Flixton. The honour of the first drive was given to Jim Callaghan, who established the company in 1986.
There were 6 teams of four competing in a stableford format. The winning team, who lifted the inaugural Calco Cup, came from Gariff Construction, a Trafford Park based shop fitting and joinery contractor. Cliff Chew from Gariff also picked up the award for the best individual score of the day.
The event was also an opportunity to launch a new logo and livery for the company. Matthew Callaghan of James Callaghan Sons and Co. said;
“We were delighted to be able to bring our clients together for a friendly but competitive day out whilst at the same time show case our new company livery. It’s the first event of this type we have held in 30 years of trading and it proved to be a most enjoyable occasion. We would like to thank all of our employees and clients for their support over the last 30 years and to the staff and members at Flixton Golf Club for allowing us to host the event, with a particular mention to Mike Boswell for coordinating everything and making it such a memorable day.”
The family run business recently purchased the former Flixton library site on the corner of Bowfell and Brook Road and has successfully acquired planning permission for a 40 bed residential care home for the elderly. The building phase is due to commence in early 2017 and the completed facility will be managed by sister company The Knoll Care Partnership who have been providing care for the elderly in Urmston and Flixton for the last 25 years.
