Facelift for Trust Headquarters

Calco have recently completed the upgrade of the hard landscaping to the front of Cobbett House, a grade 2 Listed building housing the headquarters of the Central Manchester Foundation NHS Trust, with the installation of resin paths, new block paving, new steps and pedestrian and traffic access.

The work was completed in phases to ensure minimum disruption to the occupied buildings with Calco producing a phasing plan in conjunction with Principal Contractor, Novus Solutions.

This scheme forms part of the Oxford Road corridor works and brings the frontage up to date through the installation of a new pedestrian access and steps to the main entrance, traffic calming measures, provision of additional block paved parking facilities, a new resin path leading to the main entrance and the overlay of the existing macadam surfaces.

The scheme demonstrates our ability to work with a large variety of surface finishes with materials being carefully selected due to the “heritage” nature of the surrounding area, and has resulted in a much needed upgrade to this historically significant institution.
