Double Success for Calco Sponsored Youth Teams

We are delighted to announce that 2 of the local football teams we sponsor won their respective cup competitions in their season ending finales.
Old Stretfordians AFC U14’s won the Salford and Districts Football League Division 1 Supplementary Cup in a closely fought game at Bury FC’s training facility in Carrington (former home of Manchester City). After 70 minutes of football, the teams couldn’t be separated and the game had to be decided with penalties. When Old Strets missed their first 2 attempts it looked as though the cup was lost but a remarkable turnaround resulted in a 4-3 penalty victory.

Meanwhile, over in Chester on the same weekend, Waverton AFC won the Chester and District under 12’s division 1 league cup final. In what looked like being an easy victory, Waverton romped into a 3 goal lead before 2 late goals from the opposition lead to a nervous finish. But Waverton, as true champions do, managed to hold it together and added the cup to the league title they secured a couple of weeks earlier.

Calco are proud to sponsor both teams as we recognise the importance sport, and in particular the value of team sports, can play in developing young boys and girls. Well done to both teams on your cup wins and good luck for next season.
